The subterranean area of the basilica of San Crysogono are located in the heart of the popular quarter of Trastevere.
This is one of the most ancient Christian basilicas, built in early 5th century a.d. using a big room of a Roman private rich house. Are still visible roman and christian frescoes, part of the old baptistry, the apse, the crypt, the entrance and part of the main nave.
