The subterranean area of San Lorenzo in Lucina, few meters away from the popular via Lata, now known as via del Corso, is an amazing labyrinth of several archaeological structures 5 metres below ground level in the heart of Rome. Are visible the ground level of a big insula - a Roman condominium -, ruins of a domus - a Roman rich house - that keeps intact frescoed walls, a mosaic floor and the old baptistry of the early church.
