<  Monaldeschi rock - Bolsena

A severe medieval fortress built to on top of the hills to control the areas of the lake and the nearby Via Cassia. The rock is dated back on the 13th century, and still has the original shape given by Medieval architects. Was surrounded by a moat, now partially transformed; materials were coming from local quarry of vulcanical rocks. The plan follows the ground and because of it has a pentagonal plan with high squared towes with parapets.
