<  Ninfa Castle - Doganella di Ninfa

The castle was built by the Caetani family at the centre of Ninfa village. The village anf his castle where destroyed by the troops of federico Barbarossa in late 11 century. With the election of Benedetto Caetani in 1294 as a Pope, the Caetani family increased up their power and the city with the castle where rebuilted. But once again in 1382 an epidemic and a military attack desroyed down forever Ninfa. Since 1920 the Roffredo Caetani Foundation has restored the castle and especially the gardens, one of the most visited of Italy.
