Easily recognisable by the very
high tower that rises high up above the surrounding curtain walls of the castle,
this is a structure with a complicated defensive system. Emperor Frederic
Barbarossa in the 12th century and Benvenuto Cellini, the 16th century goldsmith
and artist, are two of the most famous historical inhabitants of the castle.
