The
palazzo houses a hospital previously run by the Pope's representative, which
is one of the most ancient hospitals of Europe, founded in VII cen. a.D. and
renovated in 12th cen.. The courtyard, with its typically Roman clock, the
loggia, the cloisters and the wards for patients are of particular interest.
