<  Villa del Cardinal Bessarione

One of the the most ancient suburban /extra-urban residences, it was built on the Appian road in the middle of the 15th century by the cultured and refined Cardinal Bessarione. The villa is probably one of the oldest building of Renaissance times built with the purpose of elegance, richness and joy of life. Some of the rooms have frescoes decoration. In the underground are still visible ruins of a Roman house with mosaics.
