This
superb villa on the hill of the Pincio was built in the middle of the 15th
century by Cardinal Ricci and was expanded by the rich florentine Medici family.
The façade with its classical reliefs was a model for other villas,
as were the Italian style gardens and the study, decorated with fine frescoes
by Jacopo Zucchi. Recent renovation has brought back the original white warm
colour of the whole villa.
